Hot Tubs & Pools Questions Answered by Alex Smith »
Section: Hot Tubs & Pools
Q:  Do you have any tips on how best to maintain a hot tub?
A:

Thank you for your question.Hot tubs are used for therapy, relaxation, and most of all stress relief. The last thing you need is to be worried about maintaining your hot tub. With a spa,you are working with a small volume of hot  water, which causes chemicals to have a shorter life span, and bacteria, along with other things to grow faster.A spa is less forgiving than a pool, and requires that whatever is put into it have a PH as close to nuetral as possible. This is why only chemicals made for spas should be used. Our brand(SPACREST)hot tubs come with an ozonator which is an automatic sanitizer. The ozonator will reduce your chemical consumption more than 50%. The ozonator is a strong sanitizer and can be retrofitted to other brand hot tubs.Another tip would be to drain your hot tub no more than every 4-6 months and keep an extra cartridge filter this way you can have a clean and dry filter to replace while the other filter is being cleaned. If you are a new hot tub owner bring us a water sample and our professional staff can get you started on a simple and easy program on maintaining your hot tub.Remember that your hot tub should be FUN not work.I hope these tips were helpful
