Q:  What is the best way to make yellow-looking dentures white again? I\'ve tried everything and they still have that yellow cast.
A:  Most dentures are made with plastic teeth which yellow with age.  Since the teeth themselves are discolored, the only solution would be to have new dentures made.

Q:  Are any of your services covered by medicare or medicaid for adults?
A:  Unfortunately, medicare does not cover routine dentistry.  It is a shame because the mouth is as much a part of the body as an ear or arm.  Medicare for adults covers emergency care only, mainly extractions.

Q:  I need to know why Dentist do not accept Medicare? Surely Dentist care if us on Medicare don't have to suffer with tooth aches. And would love to have clean, healthy teeth. Do medicare- Not Care about someone suffering tremendously with bad teeth? It just is not fare. I survive on very little Dissability Pay, and do not have (ANY MONEY Left For any thing after Monthly bills. Thank You So Very Much, for the correct answer.
A:  Unfortunately there are no benefits in Medicare for routine dental care.  Medicare chose to not include dentistry in order to reduce costs.  It is a shame that one part of healthcare, dentistry, is not covered.  It is especially wrong now that periodontal disease has been shown to complicate diabetes control and the like.  The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and the Armstrong Dental Hygiene Department both provide  low cost preventive care.  Perhaps you could seek care at one of these schools.

Q:  Does it impact a child's adult teeth in any way to force out a loose baby tooth before it is ready to fall out?
A:

If the tooth is already loose, then its early removal won't affect the permanent tooth below it in the gum.  However, early removal of baby teeth can cause later orthodontic problems.

Q:  I have a chipped tooth where a cavity was......I was planning on going to the denist but I recently found out I'm pregnant. I have always read not to go to the dentist when your pregnant.. It has been a very long time since I have been to the dentist. What should I do?
A:  It is safe to go to the dentist when you are pregnant.  However, late in the pregnancy, you may not be comfortable lying on back in a dental chair.  You should see your dentist before tye problem gets worse.

Q:  I have heard that the only way to have perfect teeth is to consider veneers. Is this true and are they extremely expensive?
A:  It is important for you to decide what you like and dislike about your teeth.  If the only thing you are unhappy with is the color, then simply whitening your teeth might be enough.  If the teeth are crowded, then orthodontia might be in order.  Veneers might be an option, but they are expensive at between $900 to $1500 per tooth.
